At the NBA Awards, the legendary Bill Russell stole the show, when he flipped off Charles Barkley on live television proving once again that Bill Russell is a national treasure. The man with eleven rings immediately began trending worldwide, at at 84-years-old with a recent health scare, everyone immediately began fearing the worst about Bill Russell. As it turns out, Bill Russell was just doing something that many Americans aspire to do on a daily basis, dropping a middle finger at loudmouth Sir Charles. After the five time NBA MVP dropped the dirty digit on Barkley, he took to Twitter to offer an apology, which was totally unnecessary. You’re 84-years-old, you’re the legendary Bill Russell, and that was awesome. No apology necessary.
Rich Eisen summed up all of our thoughts perfectly:
Bill Russell trends.
I click, fearing the worst.
Then, I see why.
And it's the best.
Whew.— Rich Eisen (@richeisen) June 26, 2018
