Alabama Teacher Chasity McRae Arrested For Sex With Student

CullmanTribune   A Vinemont teacher has been arrested for one count of engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19. Chasity McRae, 35, was taken into custody on Thursday, March 15. She was a counselor at Vinemont Elementary School. The student involved is an 18-year-old male who is a senior at Vinemont High School. According to Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette, “She (McRae) has resigned, thankfully, so we don’t have to make a movement on it. She resigned on the day she was arrested.” Barnette said McRae had been employed by the school system for more than 10 years. “Everybody needs to be aware, in any profession,” said Barnette. “This started out through Snapchat and text messaging and gradually escalated to become more. And once we discovered that and we investigated the situation, that’s when we had to take some action on it.” Barnette said McRae and the student didn’t have any interaction at school that he was aware of. The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said, in a press release Monday morning, that after receiving information that McRae may have be involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student,  CCSO investigators corroborated the initial complaint and McRae was placed under arrest. McRae was released on a $10,000 bond.

Another day, another teacher gets arrested for having sex with a student, and once again social media is to blame. 35-year-old Alabama elementary school teacher Chasity McRae started out communicating with one of the seniors at Vinemont High School on SnapChat and through text messages, and the two ended up having sex, with led to the arrest of Chasity McRae. This is of course a victimless crime, every teenage boy in America spent much of their formative years fantasizing about having sex with their teachers, and this Alabama teen got to live out his fantasy. However, this is even more of a victimless crime than most of these cases, because the “victim” is an 18-year-old legal adult. However, as we learned a few weeks ago when South Carolina assistant principal Dawn Diimmler got arrested after having sex with a 19-year-old student, if you are having sex with a student under your supervision regardless of age it’s illegal.
