CNNThe Supreme Court cleared the way on Monday for states to legalize sports betting, striking down a 1992 federal law that had prohibited most states from authorizing sports betting. The court said the federal law violated constitutional principles limiting the federal government from controlling state policy. It unconstitutionally required states to prohibit sports betting under their own laws.
Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow degenerates of America, rejoice! Sports gambling is now legal county wide! Well, not really, but the Supreme Court lifted the federal ban on sports gambling and it is now up to the states to decide if they will have legalized sports gambling or not. The first state which will have legalized sports gambling available is New Jersey, the home state of SportSmasher.com, where sports bets should be available two weeks from today on Monday, May 28th at Monmouth Park Racetrack. However, the big target date is obviously week one of the NFL season, that is when many national gambling sites expect to have legal gambling apps ready for sports fans to gamble on football in time for the 2018 NFL season. The other three states expected to have legalized gambling up and running this summer are Pennsylvania, Mississippi and West Virginia with other states to follow. Sports fans, start saving up your funds, legalized gambling has arrived.
