NYDailyNews Giants wide receiver Roger Lewis was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired over the weekend in Ohio, according to a report. TMZ has reported that the 23-year-old was pulled over early Sunday morning in Reynoldsburg for speeding and driving with tinted windows. Police then smelled marijuana and said Lewis showed signs of intoxication, per the report. Lewis, who attended high school in the nearby town of Pickering, also reportedly refused officers’ request to take a breathalyzer test. He was taken into custody around 5 a.m. and charged with OVI before being released on his own recognizance.
New York Giants wide receiver Roger Lewis Jr, who was part of the New York Giants Miami boat trip scandal before the team’s playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, was arrested this weekend for operating a vehicle while impaired in his native Ohio. Lewis was pulled over for speeding and driving with tinted windows, then cops smelled marijuana in his car, which led to his arrest. Roger Lewis Jr may find his roster spot with the New York Giants in jeopardy, they are not an organization who tolerates off the field issues like this from marginal players, and the Giants depth chart is pretty stacked at wide receiver. Lewis Jr was clearly behind Odell Beckham Jr, Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard on the depth chart, and now he will have to beat out players like Tavarres King, Dwayne Harris, Kevin Norwood and rookie Travis Rudolph for a roster spot with at least one strike against him. Good luck.
