Eagles Cornerback Daryl Worley Arrested And Tased After Being Found Passed Out In Car Blocking Highway Near Team Facility

ESPN Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested Sunday morning after he was allegedly found passed out inside a vehicle blocking a highway, according to NFL Network. The Eagles confirmed Worley’s arrest and said they were “in the process of gathering more information.” According to NFL Network, Worley was tased during the 6 a.m. arrest after he allegedly became combative toward police. A gun was also found at the scene, according to the report, which added that the incident occurred near the Eagles’ team facility.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired cornerback Daryl Worley from the Carolina Panthers in a trade for wide receiver Torrey Smith, and he thanked them by getting arrested at 6am this morning, and the initial reports of the arrest sound really bad for Worley. Police responded to reports of a car was blocking traffic at the intersection of Broad Street and Pattinson Street, near the Eagles team facility, and when they investigated they discovered a man passed out in the vehicle. When he awoke, the man became extremely combative with cops, who were forced to use a taser to subdue the man who was later identified as Daryl Worley. A gun was also found at the scene. The 23-year-old Worley grew up in Philadelphia, he them attended West Virginia University, before being selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Worley had 152 tackles two sacks and three interceptions in two years with the Panthers before getting traded to his hometown Eagles to help them defend their Super Bowl Championship.
