At a mixed martial arts event called KOP 54 in Grans Rapids, Michigan, fighter Joseph Nehm was quickly knocked out by his opponent Ryse Brink, and as the referee stopped the fight Nehm took the referee’s back and sunk in a rear naked choke. Nehm clearly did not know who the referee was, he had is bell rung badly, and being badly hurt while thinking the fight was still going on he relied on his instincts and training. Nehm’s team rushed into the cage, and pulled their defeated for fighter off the referee, and a confused (and likely concussed) Nehm later apologized.
