I love the Masters. It signifies the arrival of spring and a weekend of sitting in my chair drinking beer while the soothing sounds of Jim Nantz fill my living room. When nobody I care about is in contention (and Freddy Couples blew that), I most look forward to the awkward and heartbreaking moments.
The Masters is always filled with an awkward moment or two. Last year’s collapse by Rory McIlroy was a no brainer. There is always a fan getting smacked by a golf ball. This year it wasn’t Phil Mckilson’s triple bogey. I can’t give that honor to the lefty who had to swing twice right handed on that hole. Instead Louis Oosthuizen and his Caddy take home 2012’s puke colored jacket after this terrible attempt at a high five. The 260 yard albatross was amazing. The high five… no so much.
