ESPN The Arizona Cardinals got the help they needed in their backfield, trading an undisclosed 2018 draft pick to the New Orleans Saints for running back Adrian Peterson on Tuesday. To make room for Peterson on the roster, the Cardinals released running back Chris Johnson, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter
The Adrian Peterson experience or experiment is over in New Orleans, as the Saints traded the former superstar who they signed this summer to the Arizona Cardinals, and got back only an undisclosed draft pick in exchange. This trade makes sense for both teams, because Peterson was buried on the depth chart in New Orleans behind Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara, while Arizona desperately needs help in the running game since star David Johnson was sidelined indefinitely with a wrist injury. I do not think that Adrian Peterson will make the Arizona Cardinals a playoff contender, they are currently 2-3, and Father Time is undefeated. Peterson is now 32-years-old, ancient for a running back, and my prediction is that Peterson calls it a legendary career this offseason.
