Extremely talented but deeply troubled Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has left the team to seek “treatment” for his ongoing issues with sobriety, and will miss the start of training camp. It should be noted that all reports state that Gordon has not failed a drug test and has not had a relapse, that this is part of Gordon’s treatment plan, and that he is expected to return to the team before the season (although there is no timetable for his return). Gordon wants to make sure he is in the right place mentally before focusing on football for the 2018 season, and team sources note that he has worked out incredibly hard all offseason long, he’s in incredible shape by all accounts and should be able to step right in and contribute as soon as he’s ready to practice. However, there is some level of concern, and eyebrows are raised based on the identity of the player. Josh Gordon is such a talent, but his long history of issues with sobriety are well known, so while there is no need for Browns fans or Josh Gordon fantasy owners to panic (yet) definitely keep an eye on this situation.
