You read that right, in a shocking development, All Star big man DeMarcus Cousins has signed with the two time defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. The rich got richer. How can this possibly happen? Because DeMarcus Cousins took a whopping pay cut, he made over $18 million dollars last season, and he signed with the Warriors for just $5.3 million dollars to chase the NBA Title. DeMarcus Cousins is coming off of a torn Achilles’ tendon, an injury which can be problematic for big men to return from, however he has been rehabilitating his injury and reports have been encouraging that he could return to All Star form fairly quickly. If that happens, the Warriors will have a projected starting five of DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, and the NBA should probably not even bother playing the 2018-2019 season. Warriors congratulations on your Three Peat.
UPDATE: Coming off the injury, nobody was willing to commit big money to Cousins, so he took a lot less to chase a ring with possibly the greatest starting five ever assembled. Once he proves himself Cousins believes the big money deal will be there next summer.
