In a surprising statement, WWE has announced that they have announced William Morrisey (Big Cass), who just had a high profile match against Daniel Bryan at the Money In The Bank pay per view on Sunday Night. Big Cass was once a member of the hottest tag team in the business with Enzo Amore, but he turned heel, and shortly after suffered a serious knee injury. Big Cass received a big push as a heel when he returned from injury after Wrestlemania, and he wrestled in a top spot against superstar Daniel Bryan at consecutive pay per views, both in losing efforts. It is interesting to note that the WWE did not include their standard wish of “best of luck in their future endeavors” wording that is normally included when they announce the release of superstars, but this release is thought to be legit, and not a work. It will be interesting to see what happened that led to Cass to be released, several people in creative were rumored to be very high on him long term, and he certainly looked the part. There are whispers of Big Cass being unhappy about his big push being essentially squashed with back-to-back losses to Daniel Bryan, it will be interesting to see if he acted out on his anger, which led to his firing. There have apparently been reports that Big Cass had heat backstage since returning, he was often complaining about how he was being used, and was not happy about being left out of the Money In The Bank ladder match.
