San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard missed all but seven games of the 2017-2018 NBA season with a mystery quad injury, and while the Spurs team doctors deemed him healthy, Kawhi refused to play as rumors swirled that his “team” held him out so they could angle a trade to a big market this offseason. In fact, Kawhi Leonard could not even be bothered to support his team and teammates by attending a Spurs playoff game, he stayed away from San Antonio and “rehabbed his quad on his own.” However, shortly after the San Antonio Spurs were eliminated from the post season, Kawhi Leonard was well enough to attend a Dodgers game in big market Los Angeles. It seemed like Kawhi Leonard went into the 2017-2018 NBA season hell bent on pissing off the Spurs and forcing a trade to a major market where he can cash in on big endorsement dollars, and it seems to have worked, the relationship has soured beyond repair and Kawhi and the Spurs seem destined for an ugly divorce this summer. The question is, where will Kawhi end up? The Los Angeles Lakers seem like the odds on favorite to land Kawhi Leonard, but the Spurs are going to receive plenty of intriguing offers for the very two-way player in the league, and are going to get a lot in return for their unhappy star.
