In what was a very fun NCAA Tournament featuring upsets by underdogs and runs by Cinderellas, a number one seed emerged victorious pretty easily in the end, as Villanova won their second National Championship in three years. Villanova became the sixth team in the history of the NCAA Tournament to cover the point spread in every single game, while there were a lot of fun stories that came out of this tournament, in hindsight Nova essentially rolled through it to the Championship. Villanova plays four guards, I thought if they ran into a team with a dominant big man they could be in trouble, but they never ran into a dominant big (and other than Deandre Ayton, who got bounced in the first round, that player may not have existed on college basketball this season) who could kill them inside and on the glass so they won the tournament with relative ease. It’s also officially time that we add Jay Wright to the pantheon of top college basketball coaches, two titles in three years, Jay Wright is reaching legend status in Philadelphia.
We have had two major sports titles in 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl and Villanova won the NCAA Tournament, Philly is officially back. You’re up 76ers.
