When it comes to big games, some players rise to the occasion, and some players crack under pressure. You probably want to put Alabama linebacker Mekhi Brown in the crack under pressure category after his performance in the National Championship game. Mekhi Brown punched Georgia’s Walter Grant after a play ended, earning an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and got chewed out by Nick Saban as he approached the sidelines. This seemed to anger Mekhi Brown more, as his meltdown continued when he went after an assistant coach on the sidelines, and had to be physically restrained and essentially tackled by teammates. On National television during the title game is the worst possible time for a meltdown like this, but luckily Mekhi Brown Alabama rallied to win the game and the National Championship in incredible fashion, so the world is talking about freshman backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s heroics instead of Mekhi Brown’s meltdown.
