This video has been going viral, but we here at SportSmasher.com declined to post it at first, because we have been burned by similar looking great white shark videos in the past. However, now that major news outlets like The Daily Mail and others are now reporting the story, meaning it is legit and the details are as follows: A salvage diver and his son were in murky water off the coast of South Africa, as the diver was facing the camera, a large great white shark cruised up behind him and nearly took his head off. Experts say that this shark was investigating the diver, trying to determine if he was prey, which these apex predators do by bumping a potential prey item with their nose. When the shark determined that the diver was not its natural prey, like a seal, it did not attack and left us with this incredible video. This was certainly a near death experience, and this salvage diver should have immediately bought a lottery ticket when he got back to shore, this was clearly the luckiest day of his life.
