Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin sufferers a nasty looking knee injury during his team’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, and while the team has announced that Griffin is day-to-day, there is no official word on the injury yet leading many to speculate that the injury is far more serious. The injury occurred when Griffin hit the floor to chase after a loose ball, his teammate Austin Rivers was knocked down in the scrum, and crashed into Griffin’s knee which seemed to twist. Griffin remained on the ground writhing in pain, and based on his injury history, there are rumors swirling that Griffin’s injury is far more serious than the Clippers are currently letting on.
UPDATE: Blake Griffin’s injury has been diagnosed as a sprained MCL, and while a team official said “he’ll be out a while”, it’s being reported Griffin will miss around a month. However, recovery could take up to eight weeks, and based on Griffin’s injury history and the Clippers record you would expect them to be cautious.
