ESPNSeattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will miss the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon in Thursday night’s 22-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Sherman exited the game in the third quarter and did not return. He says he expects to undergo surgery after swelling in the Achilles goes down in the next few days. “No coming back from that until you get surgery,” head coach Pete Carroll said, adding that Sherman “couldn’t even walk” after leaving the game and standing on the sideline. “He’s been a bastion of consistency, competitiveness and toughness. We’re going to miss the heck out of him.”
Another NFL Star is our for the season, this time the injury bug bit Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman, who is out for the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles in his team’s 22-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. Richard Sherman has never missed a game since entering the league in 2011, and an Achilles injury can be tricky for a cornerback to come back from, as much of their game involves backpedaling and lateral quickness plus explosive speed to the ball. All of those skills put heavy stress on the Achilles. This is going to be a tough injury for the Seahawks Legion Of Boom defense to overcome, because not only is Richard Sherman out for the season, but they traded Jeremy Lane to Houston last week in order to acquire left tackle Duane Brown. So the Seahawks traded Lane, who was Sherman’s Backup, and now Sherman goes out for the year. That’s a tough break for the Seahawks, you trade a player then lose another player at the same position to injury the next week, two weeks ago the Seahawks had major depth at corner and this week they may be signing cornerbacks off the street. UPDATE: I️ missed the face that Jeremy Lane failed his physical, so he is still on the Seahawks roster, however if he is injured and cannot play, the Seahawks still have no cornerback depth.
The NFL’s rating are down, but I️ have an interesting theory that nobody is talking about, maybe rating are down because many of the players the NFL dubbed “faces of the league” are out with season ending injuries. Aaron Rodgers. J.J. Watt. Odell Beckham Jr. Richard Sherman. These are the guys on commercials, the guys the league users to hype itself up, the fact that none of them are playing could be contributing to the ratings being down.<< >
