CNBC A person dressed in a black top hat and fake white mustache, occasionally putting a monocle on, is sitting in the audience of the Senate Banking Committee hearing on the Equifax data breach. Former Equifax CEO Richard Smith doesn’t seem to notice. The person appears to resemble the character Rich Uncle Pennybags from the famous board game. Smith is testifying about a data breach that compromised personal identifying information for more than 145 million people. His prepared remarks are similar to those written for his appearance in the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday, where he claimed “full responsibility.”
Former Equifax CEO Richard Smith is currently giving testimony in front of the Senate Banking Committee, but unbeknownst to Smith, he is being photobombed by Uncle Pennybags. That’s right, a man is dressed like The Monopoly Guy in the background, and he is stealing the show with his mustache, top hat and monocle. Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Maybe he is there to provide testimony about construction of the new hotel constructed at Marvin Gardens? Or to accuse Richard Smith of dipping into the Community Chest? Uncle Pennybags is a hero!
