It’s a scary night for New York Giants fans, because superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr was injured in the team’s second preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, on a low hit from cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun after a reception. Beckham was hit in the side of the thigh which seemed to cause his knee to buckle a bit, before he popped up and took off his helmet, before he jogged off the field with a bit of a grimace and limp. The scariest moment happened when Beckham ran to the locker room, he collapses to his knees in the hallway, which was caught on camera. This made Giants fans fear the worst, but in what has to be considered good news, Beckham is being evaluated for a concussion and an ankle injury. It seems that Beckham’s knee is okay.
UPDATE: More good news for Giants fans, Beckham does not have a concussion, he had x-rays on his ankle which appears to have some degree of a sprain.
More to come.
UPDATE: More good news for Giants fans, Odell has returned to the sidelines in street clothes for the second half, it seems he will be okay pending x-ray results.
Odell may have just seen his season, and the coming contract that is expected to make him the highest paid receiver in NFL history, flash before his eyes.
