NYDailyNews Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Adolphus Washington has been arrested in Ohio on a weapons charge. The Cincinnati native and former Ohio State standout is accused of improperly carrying a concealed weapon outside a water park in Sharonville. A police report says officers were breaking up a crowd at the water park Sunday night when Washington “reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle, just feet away from officers.” Washington was processed at the Sharonville Police Department and released. It’s unclear if he has an attorney. The Buffalo Bills released a statement Monday night saying they’re aware of the situation and have been in contact with Washington.
Adolphus Washington was considered a top prospect coming out of Ohio State University, but he fell in the 2016 NFL Draft due to character concerns, until the Buffalo Bills ended his slide in the third round. While still at Ohio State University, shortly before he was set to participate at the NFL combine, Adolphus Washington was arrested for soliciting a prostitue. It now seems that scouts were correct by moving Adolphus Washington down draft boards in 2016, because he was arrested after brandishing a gun at an Ohio water park over the weekend, an incredibly stupid mistake for a professional athlete to make. There was a crowd in the water park parking lot, and as police were breaking it up, Washington pulled his gun while in his car just feet away from the cops. In the grand scheme of things, Washington is probably lucky that his mistake was not bigger, if the cops thought Washington was going to point his concealed firearm at them this is a much different article.
When I first saw this headline, I thought Adolphus Washington actually pulled a gun inside the water park, and I wondered how he concealed a firearm in his speedo.
