ESPN Linebacker David Harris has agreed to a two-year deal with the New England Patriots, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday. The New York Jets released Harris on June 6 after being unable to agree on a pay cut with the linebacker, who played 10 seasons for the team.
This has to be a huge kick in the nuts for New York Jets fans, the team recently released longtime linebacker David Harris as part of a youth movement and rebuilding project, so Harris turned around and signed a two year with the Jets biggest rival the New England Patriots. Can you call it a rivalry when it’s this one sided? Harris is not the All-Pro level talent he once was, but he is still a good player, and he is a perfect fit for the Patriots defensive scheme. Good for David Harris, he gets to end his career with a contender chasing championships, instead of being part of another rebuild by the New York Jets.
