Just awful news from the Washington Huskies Pro Day, as one of the top cornerback prospects for the 2017 NFL Draft Sidney Jones tore his Achilles on the final drill of the day, and he will be out indefinitely. Sidney Jones was projected to be a first round pick in next month’s NFL Draft, with most mock drafts suggesting he would be picked somewhere between 15 and 25, but now his future is in doubt. A torn Achilles can be a tricky injury for cornerbacks, since it’s used so heavily while backpedal guard or turning to run, so hopefully a team will give a chance to sit out the 2017 season and rehab his injury. We hope Sidney Jones comes back stronger, and faster than ever, and is a star in 2018.
