At Bellator 170 this weekend, the main event saw Tito Ortiz officially retire from MMA after submitting Chael Sonnen, however the highlight of the night came from Paul Daley who knocked out his opponent Brennan Ward with a devastating flying knee. In the first round, Ward was rattled by a spinning elbow from Daley, and as Ward attempted to get his bearings Daley hit him with a leaping knee right to the face. This is the second devastating knee knockout we have seen recently in Bellator, in July Michael Page knocked out Cyborg Santos with a flying knee, which left Santos hospitalized with a fractured skull. Luckily for Ward, although his injury from the knee looks brutal, he is in better shape than Cyborg Santos.
After the fight, Paul Daley called out former UFC star and Bellator newcomer Rory MacDonald, which would be an excellent fight if it gets booked.
