Gainesville.com A woman who works in food service at the University of Florida was arrested Tuesday on allegations she called in a bomb threat on Nov. 16 because she wanted to leave work, according to police. Jessica Ward, 24, of 16303 NE 95th Ave. in Waldo was charged with making a false bomb report and taken to the Alachua County Jail with bail set at $15,000. Ward works for Aramark, a company that runs food services at UF. She works at the Java Hut coffee kiosk in the New Engineering Building. UFPD with assistance from the College of Engineering was able to identify a list of employees who were potentially involved in the threat including Ward. Police reported that Ward admitted to making the call, telling police that she was to leave work to have some “me time.” The building was closed for a time when the threat was made until it could be searched and cleared.
Hey Jessica Ward, have you ever heard of faking a migraine to get out of work? Or since you are a woman, say that you have a feminine problem, your boss will let you leave work without asking any further questions. If you need some “me time” definitely do not phone in a bomb threat at your place of employment, calling in a bomb threat is a felony, and now instead of “me time” Jessica Ward could be looking at hard time.
P.S. You work at a coffee stand. How stressful can it be? And how much of an asshole is the guy who runs the coffee stand that you have to result to measures as extreme as phoning in a bomb threat to get an afternoon off?
