The Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series, and the celebration continues, as Anthony Rizzo, Dexter Fowler and David Ross appeared in multiple skits on Saturday Night Live. The Cubs trio appeared with Chicago superfan Bill Murray, an original SNL cast member, who was filmed partying with the Cubs in the locker room after they defeated the Cleveland Indians in game seven. The Cubs appeared as a barbershop quartet, with Murray, as they sang “Go Cubs Go” and also as male strippers in another skit. Saturday Night Live is based in New York, but always had ties to the Second City comedy troupe, as some of the show’s biggest stars including John and Jim Belushi, Dan Akroyd, Chris Farley and of course Bill Murray are proud Chicago natives. Congratulations again to the Chicago Cubs and their fans on breaking the 108-year curse and winning the World Series.
