CBS Sources tell Eyewitness News that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was arrested on the Walt Whitman Bridge Tuesday morning. According to sources, Huff was allegedly speeding and in possession of marijuana and a gun. It is unknown if the gun is registered and if he has a permit. The Camden County Prosecutor’s office is investigating. The Eagles released a statement saying, “We are aware of the incident today involving Josh Huff. At this point, we are gathering more information.” Huff, 25, was the Eagles’ third-round pick in 2014 out of Oregon. Huff has 13 catches for 72 yards and one touchdown this season, his third. He also has a 98-yard kick return touchdown.
A surprising mid-season arrest for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff last night, he was pulled over for speeding, and police found a gun and drugs inside of his vehicle. The Eagles have been openly disappointed in the production of their wide receivers this season, and there have been rumors that they could trade for another wideout before this afternoon’s trade deadline, so you have to wonder if Huff’s arrest will cause the Eagles to make a move in order to improve the position. Josh Huff was drafted by the Eagles out of Oregon in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, where he was recruited by former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, and he has been an inconsistent but explosive player in three seasons in Philadelphia.
