KTVU San Francisco 49er Bruce Miller has been arrested for assault. Sources with the San Francisco police confirm to KTVU that the 29-year-old fullback was arrested in San Francisco Monday morning. Miller allegedly tried to check into the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott Hotel on Sunday night, but was told the hotel was full. Sources say he returned Monday morning and knocked on one of the guest room doors. The guest opened the door and informed Miller that he had wrong room. That’s when Miller allegedly began attacking the guest. The guest’s father, who was also staying in the room, came to his son’s aid, and was also attacked by Miller. Sources say that man, who is 70-years-old, was punched in the face and suffered broken bones. Both father and son were transported to the hospital. Miller fled, but was later apprehended and arrested. According to jail records, Miller has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon – not a firearm, 2 counts of making criminal threats, and battery. Miller posted a photo to his Instagram account on Sunday posing with friends at a popular San Francisco restaurant and bar with the caption “Sundays are for the boys.” KTVU spoke to someone who works at the restaurant who said “Miller was hammered.”
UPDATE: Predictably, Bruce Miller has been released by the San Francisco 49ers.
This is not the first time that Bruce Miller has been in trouble with the law in recent years, last year Miller was arrested for spousal abuse, following a domestic violence incident against his smoking hot then fiancée Leanne Massey. Bruce Miller worked all summer to impress the new 49ers coaching staff, which he apparently did as Chip Kelly stated that he will be lining Miller up at both fullback and tight end this season, and it all went away in one drunken incident. Bruce Miller spent the entire day Sunday getting wasted at a bar just days before the NFL season kicked off, then tried to get a room at a hotel, but was told there were no rooms available. Miller returned, tried to enter the a room at the hotel anyway, and got into a scuffle with the occupants of the room. He punched a 70-year-old man in the face, breaking bones, which led to his arrest. Now Miller will likely be out of a job, after working so hard to make an NFL roster all summer long, following one idiotic drunken incident.
UPDATE: Here is Miller after the incident, covered in blood and dazed, taken from the hotel security cameras.
