The San Diego Chargers selected Ohio State University defensive end Joey Bosa with the third overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, however Bosa and the Chargers have been unable to agree to terms on a contract, and the team will hold their seventh practice of 2016 without Bosa on the field. Joey Bosa’s mother replied to an anti-Chargers comment on Facebook by stating “It bums me out for him so much. Wish we pulled an Eli Manning on draft day.” Eli Manning was selected first overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL Draft, but his camp demanded a trade, so Manning was traded to the New York Giants for a package which included the number four pick in the draft Philip Rivers. Joey Bosa’s mother probably should not have expressed this opinion on social media out of frustration, but the San Diego Chargers inability to sign draft picks and being the only team in the NFL who struggle with this simple task is bizarre, soon nobody will want to be drafted by the Chargers over questions if they will ever get their contract signed.
