Local10 Los Angeles Ram running back Trence “Tre” Mason was arrested Saturday by the Hollywood Police Department, according to reports. The 22-year-old, who has a home in Delray Beach, was arrested in front of Diplomat Landing, at 3200 South Ocean Dr., in Hollywood. Records from the Broward Clerk of Courts indicate that Mason has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of cannabis, reckless driving and failure to register a motor vehicle. Mason was taken to the hospital following his arrest.
The NFL police blotter has picked up in recent days, as Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong was arrested, then Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and now Rams running back Tre Mason has been arrested in Florida and was taken to the hospital following his arrest. I wonder if Mason’s hospital visit has anything to do with his resisting arrest charge? More details about Mason’s arrest should be available shortly and we will provide them at that time so keep it here for updates.
P.S. I’ve always been a fan of Tre Mason, since his father was a member of De La Soul, so I was sorry to hear about his arrest. He’s a talented player, who can contribute in the NFL, especially as a change of pace back who can spell Todd Gurley in Los Angeles.
UPDATE: Tre Mason was pulled over for driving his Porsche over 70mph in a 35mph zone, and when he was pulled over, police noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle. He refused to provide identification, say anything to identify himself, or get out of the car when he was pulled over by police. Mason was stunned with a taser, and then stunned again when he refused to put his hands behind his back when police finally got him outside of his car, he was taken to the hospital as a precaution following his arrest after being tased twice.
