Outdoors360 An ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle) was doing a deepwater riser inspection on a deepwater drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico and came across… a rather large Tuna!!! According to the video the riser in the background is nearly four feet across, which could mean this enormous tuna would be 18 feet in length, and 8 feet tall. Regardless of the actual perspective and true size of the tuna, we do know this, it’s a true giant of a tuna. See for yourself!
This video is going viral, a ROV was performing an inspection on a deepwater oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, when it encountered an absolutely enormous tuna. The exact size of this monster fish is unknown, but based in the known measurement that the riser in the background of the video is four-feet across, experts estimate that the tuna is sixteen to eighteen feet long and eight feet tall. These measurements, if accurate and not distorted by some sort of underwater optical illusion, would make this the largest tuna ever seen by human eyes. You’re gonna need a bigger jar of mayonnaise.
