Daily Mail Ole Miss football star and top NFL prospect Robert Nkemdiche has been hospitalized after falling from a wall at an Atlanta hotel. The 21-year-old defensive lineman, who is expected to take one of the top slots in next year’s Draft broke a window at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckead on Saturday night. According to police he then walked about 15 feet, climbed over a wall and fell around 15ft from the fourth floor. Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Kim Jones says Nkemdiche was alert and conscious when emergency responders arrived and he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. On Sunday evening he was in a stable condition and was suffering from ‘cuts and bruises’. Jones says authorities found what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana in Nkemdiche’s room. Nkemdiche, a junior at Ole Miss, is a defensive tackle from Loganville, Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 296-pound Nkemdiche is considered a potential first-round NFL draft pick this spring. He was the consensus top recruit in the country three years ago, anchored the Rebels’ defensive line this season and was selected to the AP All-America second team on Sunday. Ole Miss, which has a 9-3 record this season, will face Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze told ESPN in a statement: ‘We are still learning about the matter, but obviously Robert’s wellbeing is our greatest concern.’ ESPN have named him as their No.1 overall prospect for the draft, while CBS have him at number two.
This bizarre story has been going viral today, as one of the best college football players in the country and a player that is projected to be selected in the top five picks of the 2016 NFL Draft Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche was hospitalized over the weekend, after a strange circumstance which led to him falling off the roof of an Atlanta hotel. The details of exactly what happened are still sketchy, but it seems that Nkemdiche broke a window in the hotel, and was walking across the roof, when he fell fifteen feet off the fourth floor. Nkemdiche was apparently very lucky, he was hospitalized with cuts and bruises, but he is expected to make a full recovery. A small amount of marijuana was also discovered in his room, and of Robert Nkemdiche does in fact declare for the 2016 NFL Draft, expect this incident to raise a lot of red flags which will have NFL scouts asking a lot of questions.
