TMZ P. Diddy has been arrested for allegedly getting into a fight with a football coach at UCLA … where his son is on the team, TMZ Sports has learned. We’re told Campus Police took the music mogul into custody early Monday afternoon. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team. We’re told the fight went down at the UCLA athletic facility. One source says a strength and conditioning coach was screaming at Justin on the field during a strength and conditioning session. We’re told the coach “was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him.” Diddy watched the whole thing from the sideline. At some point later, we’re told Diddy confronted the coach in his office and grabbed him. Diddy was arrested for assault. A source connected with Diddy tells TMZ Diddy himself initially wanted to call police, but the phone was taken out of his hands. Diddy is still in custody at campus jail.
4:00 PM PST — Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Diddy allegedly attacked the coach with a kettlebell weight. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon … a felony. Head Coach Jim Mora called this an “unfortunate incident for all parties involved” — and said they would let the legal process run its course.
4:15 PM PT — Our UCLA sources tell us Diddy confronted Strength and Conditioning Coach Sal Alosi while Alosi was on the phone. We’re told Diddy was told to “hang on” but he wasn’t having it and picked up a kettlebell and swung it, narrowly missing Alosi. One source said if Diddy had connected, it could have killed Alosi. We’re also told the entire altercation is on video. And get this … we’re told Diddy is referred to by the UCLA staff as a “helicopter dad” for hovering over practices. By the way … Alosi is infamous in his own right. He was a NY Jets coach who was suspended by the NFL in 2010 after tripping a Miami Dolphins player who was covering a punt.
Apparently Sal Alosi has been really pushing Diddy’s son Justin Combs during UCLA offseason work, which is exactly what a strength an conditioning coach is supposed to do, so Diddy went to the coach’s office to confront Alosi over what he perceived as mistreatment of his son. The two got into an argument, and Diddy tried to attack Alosi with a kettlebell, but missed and was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. There have long been rumors about Diddy hanging around UCLA practices, demanding special treatment for his son, and harassing coaches when his son was not on the field or was being pushed too hard. This is why you do not want the son of a celebrity on your team, no parents attend college football practices ever, but Diddy thinks he deserves special treatment because he is a mogul recognized worldwide. Football players do not get special treatment based on who their parents are, they have to earn that playing time through outworking the competition, and nothing should be handed to a football player. If I was UCLA Jim Mora Jr, I would be halfway happy that this incident happened, because now he can ban all parents (including Diddy) from his practices and remove this distraction to his team. If I’m Sal Alosi, I have my lawyer call Diddy’s team of lawyers, and offer to “make this matter go away” by dropping charges…for a couple million bucks.
P.S. This is Sal Alosi coaching at UCLA, Diddy had better use a kettlebell, because in a fight Alosi would absolutely destroy Puffy:
P.S. There is no chance that Diddy displayed good form or technique while attacking Alosi with the kettlebell, in fact I doubt Diddy could move much weight at all, and he probably attacked Alosi with the pink kettlebell my girl tries to use:
P.S. The memes have started:
