This video comes to us from last night’s New York Knicks vs. Toronto Raptors preseason game, when Raptors forward Tyler Hansbrough took a hard foul going to the hoop, and was upset for a moment with his back to the offending Knicks player. Hansbrough turned around wide-eyed looking to engage, then he realized that the Knicks player who fouled him was confirmed lunatic Metta World Peace, and quickly apologized. If you can read Hansbrough’s lips, he says “Oh. Ron. My bad.” As a Knicks fan, this reemphasizes to me why the team acquired the former Ron Artest this offseason, he is an enforcer and half of the league is terrified of him. It may say “World Peace” on his back, but somewhere inside the man who went into the stands during the “Malice At The Palace” lies dormant, and other players in the league haven’t forgotten what Artest is capable of. I’m looking forward to rooting for Artest this season, he definitely brings a tough mentality to this Knicks team, and is always entertaining to watch.
