New York Post: He recalled the Jets’ Week 2 loss in Foxborough.
“I remember a play, a referee made it his business to tell me I was too close to hitting him,” Richardson said. He chuckled and added, “It gets crazy out there. I got close to him, shoved him a little bit, the referee said, ‘I could’ve threw the flag on you for that.’ ”
Richardson’s response: “He didn’t even fall.”
He heard back: “It doesn’t matter.”
“Can’t touch Tom Brady unless he’s got the ball in his hand,” Richardson added.
New York Jets star rookie Sheldon Richardson tee’d off on the NFL and their golden boy, Tom Brady in an interview with the NY Post. He said what every NFL fan outside of New England knows… that Tom Brady and the Patriots get different treatment by the refs. We would be foolish to believe anything otherwise. The NFL is a product. One that makes a lot of money. They are out to protect their revenue stream. Their star QBs pay. This is why the Patriots have gotten away with so much nonsense over the years.
In the end, Richardson made some good bulletin board fodder for the Pats and nothing else… but I love this kid’s energy.
“I’m ready for this game,” he said. “Ready. I’m ready for this game. Sunday can’t come fast enough.”
Because it’s the Patriots?
“Yeah. Exactly. Just because it’s the Patriots,” Richardson said.
“I’m ready to go get another shot at these guys, it’s Tom Brady.
I hope he sacks Brady 5x on Sunday. Go Jets!
