FanSided Florida Gators linebacker Antonio Morrison has been arrested again. It is the second time in just over a month that the promising young linebacker has been cuffed and this time it is all because of harassing a police dog. He was arrested for harassing a police animal and resisting a officer without violence, according to the Alachua County jail system. Morrison apparently began barking at a police dog before he was taken in to police custody. Morrison’s last arrest came on June 16 for a misdemeanor battery charge after he allegedly punching a bouncer at a nightclub. It’s obviously not the best look for Morrison and it can’t make head coach Will Muschamp happy. It is unlikely that Morrison will receive any serious punishment from the team, but he is starting to walk on thin ice. Morrison was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team just a year ago and he will look to continue that success in his sophomore season if he is able to stay away from being locked up.
How do you get arrested for something as stupid as barking at a police dog Antonio Morrison? Were you listening to some DMX before you hit the town that night, have “Get At Me Dog” stuck in your head, and think barking at a police dog was a good idea? This is a very frustrating arrest for Gators head coach Will Muschamp, Morrison was one of the most talented freshmen in the country last season, and two arrests in a short time frame is a bad sign. It sounds to me like the cop was being a dick and did not need to arrest Morrison, but following his recent arrest he shouldn’t have put himself in a situation where he could be arrested again.
