Click2Houston A man attacked city workers with hammers and brandished a knife at police officers on Monday, according to authorities. Friendswood police say they had to use tear gas and a taser to subdue Darron Lynn Koenig, 51. It happened in the 400 bl ock of Oak Vista. Authorities said one worker told them Koening was throwing the hammers at them and had a knife. One contractor’s hard hat took the blow from the hammer while another worker was hit in the arm, authorities said. Koening barricaded himself in a tool shed at his residence when officers arrived on the scene, authorities said. After two hours of talking with Koening, police officers said it appeared he was trying to light the shed on fire. That’s when they said they decided to use tear gas and a taser to subdue him. During the arrest, officers said Koenig brandished a knife at them. Koenig was transported to the Friendswood City Jail and booked for three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault of a peace officer. His bond is set at $160,000.
Darron Lynn Koenig, you flat out lunatic, fantastic work on this mugshot.
Let me get this straight Darron Lynn Koenig, you threw hammers at city workers, hitting one in the hard hat. Then you pulled a knife on them, but when police arrived, you locked yourself in a took shed. Then you tried to go down in a blaze of glory following your not so heinous crimes and tried to set the tool shed you were hiding in on fire, do the cops fired some tear gas into your hideout and brought you down with a taser. Nice work, Darron Lynn Koenig, impressive crime spree.
This is exactly how a person who commits the acts listed above is supposed to look. If I read that article above to you with your eyes shut and said “now picture the perpetrator” you would picture that exact mugshot of Darron Lynn Koenig.
