Both parents and five other people are charged in the case. The incident occurred Feb. 20 in a unit in Pineywoods Place apartments in Milton, according a report released today by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s office. On the evening of the incident, the child drank the chemical from a sippy cup in the bathroom of the apartment while unsupervised and suffered an immediate reaction. The child was transported to a medical facility and is still undergoing critical care, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe that several people were at the apartment that night making methamphetamine, in which Drano is a component. The child’s father, Jonathan Wayne Glass, 36, was arrested on Friday and is being held at Santa Rosa County Jail in East Milton without bond, according to the report.
Here is an tip, meth cooks of Florida. If you have kids, and even if you don’t, its probably the worst idea of all time to keep a deadly ingredient like Drano in a sippy cup! Who drinks out of sippy cups? Little kids. One of your kids will inevitably wander into your meth lab, because you are on meth and shouldn’t be caring for children in the first place, and they will drink out of that sippy cup. This was not a matter of if the kid was going to drink the Drano in the sippy cup, but a matter of when it was going to happen. You couldn’t store the Drano in something else, anything else, even a Capri Sun? Kids can’t open Capri Suns.
Side Note: I’ve seen every episode of “Breaking Bad” and not once have I seen Walter White and Jesse Pinkman use Drano in their meth cooking. Maybe its because they are more high tech and using Drano is the Hillbilly way to cook meth? Also I’ve used Drano plenty of times, and just now was the first time I realized there was no “i” in Drano. Thought it was “Draino” for all of these years. You learn something new every day.
