The NFL’s Black Monday continues today as Lovie Smith becomes the next head to roll. The former Chicago Bears’ head coach was fired after 9 seasons with the team. According to the Chicago Tribune: “The Bears fired Smith on Monday after a 10-6 season, Tribune sources have confirmed. They started 7-1 but fell apart down the stretch, mostly because they couldn’t score.”
The Bears have been competitive during Lovie’s run with the team… he just couldn’t fix the offense.
This wasn’t one of the expected ones from my standpoint. I actually thought Rex Ryan had a better chance of getting canned. It will be an active offseason for NFL coaches and coordinators.
