Deadspin In times of great sorrow, the best comfort can be to return to the things we love most in life, like coldly judging football players based on their statistical contributions alone. CBS Sports didn’t just shoehorn its obituary into a square-inch box next to Belcher’s stats—they managed to find some room for fantasy analysis, too. “He had 38 tackles and was not a Fantasy IDP option in most formats.” That there is the fantasy expert’s take on this morning’s tragedy in Kansas City. Set your line-ups accordingly.
As you know we here at Sportsmasher.com make fun of sports and there is nothing funny about the tragedy that unfolded this morning in Kansas City, when Javon Belcher murdered his girlfriend then drove to Arrowhead Stadium, where he took his own life in front of team officials.
We have been following the situation in great detail all day and would like to send or deepest sympathy to the families of the deceased and the Kansas City Chiefs Football Family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
It seems that CBSsports.com did not share our sympathy, as they advised fantasy football owners not to play Jovan Belcher in individual defensive player formats, because he was dead. Thanks for the tip CBS, I’ll reset my lineup now.
