Wrestleview WWE confirmed on Twitter that John Cena will be serving as the New York Jets honorary captain at Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
I am convinced this is a huge jinx on the New York Jets. Any true wrestling fan despises John Cena, he is basically a marketing machine to sell the WWE’s product to little kids. He does the same spots in every match and cannot be turned heel because of his impact on marketing dollars, so his character is totally stale.
That said, which one of John Cena’s catch phrases do you think will motivate the Jets the most on Sunday?
1) Hustle, Loyalty and Respect: For the first time this year, the Jets play as a cohesive unit, both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow lead scoring drives, and the defense hits hard but always helps the fallen Colts up after each play.
2) You Can’t See Me: Shonn Greene suddenly becomes elusive (according to Rotoworld Greene ranks dead last in “elusiveness” rating) and rushes for over 200 yards.
3) Rise Above The Hate: Mark Sanchez throws an early pick, the fans chant “We Want Tebow” and Sanchez responds by throwing for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The Jets should instead bring in The Big Show and stick him at right tackle. That would make any football team better.
