The Miami Dolphins named rookie eighth overall draft pick Ryan Tannehill their starting quarterback during the second episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks, and with their lack of weapons on offense it seems as though Tannehill will have his work cut out for him in 2012.
In the fourth installment of Hard Knocks, we learned a troubling fact about Tannehill which could be another bad sign for their chances this coming season. Tannehill was not a big NFL fan growing up and does not know which teams play in each division or conference for that matter.
When quizzed on which divisions NFL teams compete in by hysterically laughing backup quarterback Matt Moore, Tannehill thought that the Kansas City Chiefs played in the NFC East and the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants played in the NFC North.
Yikes. I know that Dolphins fans will tell me that Tannehill did not watch a lot of football growing up because he was playing football and working out, but for some reason I found this troubling. Having no basic knowledge of the NFL does not exactly inspire confidence.
The Kansas City Chiefs in the NFC East? Wrong conference, and how the hell is Kansas City in the East? Shouldn’t quarterbacks have some basic logic? You can’t get by on athletic ability alone in the NFL, you better have some smarts.
Tannehill, you’d better learn this stuff in case you are in the Wild Card race someday, but don’t worry you won’t have to worry about that this year, the Dolphins will be terrible.
At least you’re wife is smoking hot:
