I am not sure why I find this amazing, but I found myself looking up the career stats of longtime major leaguer Ruben Sierra today, and I discovered that the man was more talented than I ever previously thought.
During his playing career, Sierra released THREE albums, with some of the funniest covers you have ever seen. Much like the modern douchebag, his “likes” include flexing on cars and his “hates” include shirts.
Other interesting Ruben Sierra facts:
– He played for NINE MLB teams between 1986 and 2006 (most notably the Texas Rangers from 1986-1992.
-He finished second in the AL MVP Voting in 1989 to Robin Yount. He also won the 1989 Silver Slugger Award.
-He was a 4 Time All-Star (1989, 1991, 1992, 1994)
-He was the 2001 Comeback Player of the Year.
-He has 306 career home runs (.268 batting average, 1322 RBIs)
So before athletes like Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant or Roy Jones Jr. were wasting their free time on starting music careers instead of lifting weights or running sprints, there was Ruben Sierra. Designated Hitter, Musician, Visionary.
